Realme 16 5G Debuts in India With Unique Selfie Mirror and Massive Battery

New Realme smartphone blends standout camera design, powerful battery performance, and modern features while offering long term software support and attractive launch offers for Indian buyers today

In a move aimed at standing out in a crowded smartphone market, Realme has introduced its latest device, the Realme 16 5G, in India. The new handset brings a mix of bold design choices and practical features, including a rarely seen selfie mirror integrated into the rear camera module.

The design of the phone has already caught attention, with its camera layout drawing comparisons to the iPhone Air style. However, Realme has added its own twist by placing a small reflective mirror beside the rear camera, allowing users to frame selfies using the main sensor. This feature is expected to appeal to content creators and social media users who prefer higher quality rear camera shots.

Powering the device is a large 7000mAh battery, which the company claims can comfortably last through extended usage. It supports 60W fast charging and even offers reverse charging, making it useful for powering accessories. Despite the big battery, the phone maintains a relatively slim profile and manageable weight, balancing endurance with portability.

On the front, the device features a 6.57 inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness reaching up to 4200 nits. This should ensure good visibility even under harsh sunlight, while the high touch sampling rate is designed to deliver a smoother experience during gaming and scrolling.

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo processor, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The device also includes a vapor chamber cooling system to manage heat during intensive tasks. It ships with Android 16 based Realme UI 7.0 and is promised to receive multiple OS upgrades along with extended security updates.

For photography, the rear setup includes a 50 megapixel primary camera along with a secondary monochrome sensor. On the front, users get another 50 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The addition of the selfie mirror enhances usability by letting users preview shots using the rear camera setup.

The Realme 16 5G is available in multiple variants, starting from 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and goes up to 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Buyers can choose between Air Black and Air White color options. The phone is currently open for pre orders through online platforms, with official sales beginning soon.

With features like a distinctive camera design, long lasting battery, and modern hardware, Realme appears to be targeting users who want both style and substance in their next smartphone.
