Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition Set for India Launch with Premium Design and Powerful Features
Redmi prepares to introduce its Note 15 5G Special Edition in India on April 2 featuring a striking vegan leather finish, 108MP camera, strong battery life and upgraded performance focus

The upcoming launch of the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition has started generating buzz ahead of its official debut in India on April 2. The device, teased by Xiaomi under its Redmi brand, is expected to bring a refreshed design along with familiar hardware seen in the standard model released earlier this year.
Unlike the regular version, the Special Edition stands out primarily for its visual appeal. Early teasers suggest a bold red finish complemented by a premium vegan leather back, giving the smartphone a more refined and high end feel. Gold accents around the edges and camera module are also expected, adding to its distinctive styling. The design is believed to be inspired by a similar edition previously introduced in China.
On the performance front, the smartphone is expected to retain the same internals as the standard Redmi Note 15 5G. It is likely to feature a 6.77 inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals for both everyday use and entertainment. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, aimed at delivering reliable multitasking and gaming performance.
Camera capabilities remain a key highlight of the device. The phone is expected to include a 108MP primary sensor designed for high resolution photography. Supporting this setup could be an 8MP secondary lens, while a 20MP front camera is likely to handle selfies and video calls efficiently. These specifications place the device firmly in the competitive mid range segment.
Battery performance is another strong area, with the handset expected to pack a 5520mAh battery. This large capacity unit should comfortably support extended usage, while 45W fast charging is expected to reduce downtime significantly for users on the go.
In terms of storage and software, the device may offer 8GB RAM paired with 128GB or 256GB storage variants. Expandable storage via microSD card is also anticipated. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 15 based HyperOS 2, promising a smoother and more updated user experience.
While the official pricing for the Special Edition has not yet been revealed, industry expectations suggest it could be slightly higher than the standard variant, which is priced around Rs 21000. The device will be available through Flipkart, where a dedicated launch page is already live, signaling that the company is gearing up for a major release in the coming days.
