Samsung has officially begun the rollout of its new One UI 8.5 software update for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update is based on Android 16 and introduces a wide range of artificial intelligence features, performance upgrades, privacy improvements, and interface changes. The company is initially focusing on premium flagship devices before gradually expanding the update to more users across different regions.

The latest update is designed to improve the overall Galaxy experience with smarter AI powered tools and faster system performance. Samsung has also refreshed several core applications and optimized the software to deliver smoother multitasking and more responsive navigation. Many of the features first seen on the Galaxy S26 series are now making their way to older flagship devices through this update.

One UI 8.5 also brings noticeable improvements to the camera system. Samsung has redesigned the camera interface to make it cleaner and easier to use, especially for users interested in professional style photography. Enhanced photo processing and improved AI based image optimization are expected to deliver better quality photos and videos in different lighting conditions.

Another major focus of the update is Galaxy AI. Samsung has expanded its AI ecosystem with smarter suggestions, AI powered multitasking tools, and advanced screen sharing support. Features such as Gemini Live and AI Results View are expected to make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive. Users will also see better integration of AI features while editing photos, managing apps, and using productivity tools.

The company has also upgraded Bixby with improved voice recognition and quicker responses. Samsung says the assistant can now understand commands more naturally and deliver more accurate replies. Along with this, One UI 8.5 introduces stronger privacy controls and updated security protection to keep user data safer.

Samsung users are also expected to notice smoother animations, redesigned widgets, and a more polished notification system after installing the update. The software aims to make devices feel faster and more refined even on older Galaxy models.

The One UI 8.5 update is being released for a large number of Galaxy devices including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 lineup, Galaxy S23 models, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold and Flip smartphones, Galaxy Tab S series tablets, and several Galaxy A and M series devices. Samsung has confirmed that the rollout will continue in phases depending on the region and device eligibility.

Galaxy users who have not yet received the update may need to wait a few more days as Samsung gradually expands availability worldwide. Users can check for the update manually by visiting the software update section in device settings.
