In a major push to modernize rail travel, the Centre is set to introduce two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, expanding connectivity across key regions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off these trains on April twenty eight, marking another step in improving passenger experience on Indian Railways.
The newly introduced routes include Varanasi to Pune and Ayodhya to Mumbai, linking important cultural, spiritual, and economic hubs. While Varanasi connects to Pune, known for its educational and technology landscape, the Ayodhya to Mumbai route is expected to benefit pilgrims traveling to the holy city as well as regular commuters heading to the financial capital.
Designed to cater to a wide section of passengers, especially middle class and economically weaker groups, these trains feature non AC coaches while still offering upgraded amenities. The focus is on delivering a balance between affordability and comfort, ensuring that more people can access faster travel options.
The trains are equipped with modern facilities such as improved seating, mobile charging points for every seat, CCTV cameras, and sensor based washrooms. With locomotives at both ends, the trains can achieve higher speeds quickly, significantly reducing travel time compared to conventional services.
These routes passing through central India are expected to enhance connectivity for several smaller towns across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to transform the railway network while making efficient travel accessible to a broader population.
