Bandi Bhagirath Sent to Jail After End of Police Custody

Bandi Bhagirath, who is facing allegations of sexually harassing a minor girl, has been sent to Cherlapally Jail after the completion of his police custody. Investigators questioned him for three days as part of an ongoing probe into the case registered under the POCSO Act.
Following the end of the custody period, police produced Bhagirath before a court. Based on the court’s directions, he was later transferred to Cherlapally Jail while the investigation continues.
The inquiry was conducted under the supervision of Kukatpally Deputy Commissioner of Police Rithiraj, who is serving as the special investigating officer in the case. As part of the investigation, police also took Bhagirath to a farmhouse in Moinabad for scene reconstruction and evidence verification.
The case stems from a complaint filed by the mother of the minor girl. According to the complaint, Bhagirath allegedly took the victim to the farmhouse along with his friends on December 31 and committed the offence there. Based on the allegations, police registered a case under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act and launched a detailed investigation.
Sources indicated that investigators asked Bhagirath several questions during the three day interrogation. However, reports suggest that he remained silent on a number of key questions raised by the police.
Officials are continuing to examine evidence and statements connected to the case. The investigation remains active, and authorities are expected to take further steps based on the findings gathered during the questioning and forensic review process.
