Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to reduce the number of vehicles in his convoy during district tours as part of a fuel conservation initiative in Andhra Pradesh. The decision comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens and governments to avoid unnecessary fuel usage amid global concerns over energy resources.
During a high level meeting with senior police and intelligence officials, Chandrababu instructed departments to strictly implement the new convoy rules. He also advised ministers and VIPs to avoid using excess vehicles during official movements and public visits.
Following the Chief Minister’s decision, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also announced similar steps for his convoy arrangements. He reportedly instructed his security personnel to cut the number of accompanying vehicles by 50 percent during tours and official programs.
According to officials, the state leadership wants to set an example by adopting practical cost saving measures instead of limiting the message to public speeches. The move has received positive reactions from several sections, with many appreciating the government’s effort to promote responsible fuel usage.
The Andhra Pradesh government believes such measures can help reduce unnecessary expenditure while also encouraging administrative discipline during official travel across the state.
