Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has called for organizing the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu on a grand scale similar to the Kumbh Mela, emphasizing meticulous planning to ensure a seamless experience for millions of devotees.
During a high level review meeting held at Mangalagiri, the Deputy Chief Minister discussed key development initiatives and focused extensively on preparations for the upcoming spiritual event. Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh stated that clear directions were issued to prioritize infrastructure and devotee convenience.
The festival, scheduled between June 26 and July 7 in 2027, is expected to witness an unprecedented turnout of nearly ten crore devotees. Officials have been instructed to ensure that arrangements are made on a massive scale, keeping both safety and comfort at the forefront.
Authorities have already begun modernization works at key river ghats, particularly in and around Rajamahendravaram and other regions along the Godavari basin. The government aims to upgrade facilities to handle the expected influx efficiently.
Special emphasis is being placed on essential services such as clean drinking water sanitation rest areas and accommodation facilities. Plans are also underway to implement advanced crowd management systems using technology to regulate the large gatherings and prevent congestion.
Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan to avoid traffic disruptions and ensure smooth movement of pilgrims. Security arrangements are being strengthened to manage the massive crowds expected during the event.
A detailed review meeting involving public representatives officials and coalition leaders is expected to be held soon in Rajamahendravaram to assess ground level preparations and finalize strategies. The government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu aims to showcase the event as a symbol of cultural pride and spiritual grandeur.
Officials expressed confidence that with coordinated efforts and early planning the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu will set a new benchmark in organizing large scale religious gatherings in the country.
