In an effort to connect young minds with the functioning of law enforcement, Hyderabad city police have launched an innovative initiative titled A Day With The CP, designed especially for government school students.

The programme was inaugurated by Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar at the CCS office in Basheerbagh and will run for forty five days. It aims to give students from classes eight to ten a real world understanding of policing and encourage them to become responsible citizens.

Each day, twenty selected students including equal participation of boys and girls will spend time observing various police operations. The sessions run from morning to evening, offering students a detailed look at how the department functions.

During the first day, students from a government school in Mangalhat interacted with the commissioner through a video conference, where they were briefed about security arrangements for a major city event. They also observed grievance sessions, where complaints were addressed and explained step by step.

As part of the programme, students visited key facilities such as the Integrated Command and Control Centre, the main control room, IT Cell, Cyber Crime Wing, Special Branch, SHE Teams, and CAR headquarters. Officials explained how technology is used in crime prevention and highlighted measures taken for public safety, especially for women.

Commissioner Sajjanar emphasized that policing is not only about controlling crime but also about serving society and ensuring security. He stated that the initiative is meant to build trust in the police system and create awareness about issues like cybercrime and drug abuse.

Students were also given books and certificates of appreciation, making the experience both educational and encouraging. The programme is being coordinated under the leadership of senior officials from the Women Safety Wing.

Through this initiative, police hope to inspire students, broaden their understanding of law enforcement, and motivate them to contribute positively to society in the future.
