India continued its dominant run in the T20 World Cup 2026 by registering a convincing victory over the Netherlands in the final group stage match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The win ensured that India entered the Super Eight stage without a single defeat.
Batting first after winning the toss India posted a competitive total of 193 for six in twenty overs. After early setbacks captain Surya Kumar Yadav and Tilak Varma steadied the innings before Shivam Dube took charge with an explosive knock. Dube smashed a rapid half century off just 25 balls and finished with 66 runs off 31 deliveries including four boundaries and six towering sixes.
Chasing a target of 194 the Netherlands put up a spirited fight. Openers Michael Levitt and Max O Dowd provided a solid start while middle order contributions from Bas de Leede and Colin Ackermann kept hopes alive. Late fireworks from Zach Lion Cachet and Noah Croes briefly worried the Indian camp.
However disciplined bowling from India ensured control in the final overs. Varun Chakravarthy picked up three crucial wickets while Shivam Dube and Jasprit Bumrah chipped in at key moments to restrict the Netherlands to 176 for seven securing a 17 run victory.
