A wave of grief has swept across Telangana following a series of tragic incidents linked to the recently announced intermediate results, where six students died by suicide fearing they had failed.

The incidents were reported from multiple districts including Medak Suryapet Adilabad Mahabubnagar Hyderabad and Khammam, raising serious concerns about the pressure faced by students during exam result season.

In several cases, students took extreme steps after believing they had not cleared their subjects. Reports indicate that some students who failed in one or two subjects ended their lives at their homes, unable to cope with disappointment and fear.

One of the most heartbreaking cases involved a student from Khammam district who ended his life even before the results were declared, fearing failure. When the results were later announced, it was revealed that he had actually passed with 347 marks and secured a first class.

The tragic outcome left his family devastated, as what should have been a moment of relief turned into unbearable loss. Similar incidents across the state have intensified discussions around student mental health and emotional well being.

Education experts and community members are urging students not to take extreme decisions based on exam outcomes. They stress that results are only one part of life and do not define a person’s future.

The incidents highlight the urgent need for stronger counseling systems and emotional support for students, especially during high pressure periods like examinations and results.

Authorities and parents have been advised to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to share their fears and seek help when needed.
