The much awaited IPL 2026 season is all set to begin on March 28, bringing excitement back to cricket fans across the country with a packed schedule and new viewing features.

The opening match will be held in Bengaluru, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in what promises to be an exciting start to the tournament. The league will run for over two months, concluding with the final on May 31.

Fans can watch the matches live on television through Star Sports channels, while digital streaming will be available on JioHotstar via its website and mobile app.

This season, viewers can enjoy commentary in multiple languages including English Hindi Telugu Tamil and Kannada, along with additional regional feeds. The platform is also introducing features such as vertical live streaming, 360 degree viewing, and multi camera options to enhance the experience.

The tournament includes 12 double header days, with matches scheduled in the afternoon and evening slots. Each team will play 14 matches during the league stage, and the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs.

The playoff format will include Qualifier 1 Eliminator Qualifier 2 and the final, determining the champion of the season.

A total of ten teams are participating this year, and matches will be hosted across 12 major cities including Mumbai Chennai Hyderabad Delhi and Kolkata among others.
