Several districts in Rajasthan witnessed dramatic weather conditions on Saturday as a powerful sandstorm swept across the region, turning daylight into near darkness before intense rainfall lashed affected areas. The sudden change in weather left residents shocked and caused widespread disruption to normal life.

The impact was most severe in Churu district, while Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar also experienced significant disturbances. Strong winds carrying large amounts of sand reduced visibility to dangerous levels, making travel difficult for motorists and pedestrians alike.

In many locations, thick layers of sand accumulated on major roads and residential areas. Transport services were temporarily affected as vehicles struggled to move through sand covered routes. Commuters were forced to halt their journeys until conditions improved.

The storm, which lasted for around thirty minutes, was accompanied by powerful gusts that swept across desert regions. Soon after the sandstorm weakened, heavy rain arrived in several areas, bringing a sudden shift in weather conditions.

According to weather officials, the recurring influence of western disturbances is triggering thunderstorms, rainfall, and sandstorms across Rajasthan. While these weather events are helping lower the impact of intense heat, they are also creating challenges for transportation and power supply networks.

Rajasthan has been experiencing severe summer temperatures in recent days, with places such as Sri Ganganagar recording temperatures above 48 degrees Celsius. The rainfall provided some relief from the scorching conditions, although the sandstorm itself caused considerable inconvenience to residents.

Authorities confirmed that no major loss of life or significant property damage has been reported so far. Local administration teams have begun clearing sand from roads and restoring normal traffic movement in affected areas.

The weather department has also warned that similar conditions may continue in parts of Bikaner and the Shekhawati region over the coming days. Residents have been advised to remain cautious as changing weather patterns continue to affect the desert state.
