In a move aimed at supporting mothers in public spaces, Telangana minister Seethakka inaugurated an Amma Odi breastfeeding centre at the busy Kacheguda bus terminal in Hyderabad. The facility is designed to provide a safe and comfortable space for mothers who often struggle to feed their infants in crowded public areas.

Highlighting the importance of such initiatives, the minister said the government plans to expand Amma Odi feeding centres across the state. These facilities will be set up at major bus stations, railway stations, and other high footfall locations to ensure mothers have access to basic amenities wherever they travel.

She also noted that special arrangements would be made during large gatherings, including events like the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, where large crowds often make it difficult for women to find private spaces for childcare.

During the event, the minister shifted focus to an equally important issue and cautioned parents about the risks involved in child adoption through unofficial channels. She urged families not to trust middlemen and stressed that those interested in adoption must only approach the official system under ICDS to avoid fraud and ensure legal safety.

The programme saw participation from local leaders and officials, including MLA Kaleru Venkatesh and Hyderabad district authorities. The initiative reflects a broader effort by the state government to improve public infrastructure with a focus on women and child welfare.
