Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will form the next government in Telangana. Addressing a massive public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, Modi said people across the state are looking for political change and are increasingly supporting the BJP.
During his speech, the Prime Minister claimed that both the Congress and BRS governments had failed to fulfil promises made to the people. He said Telangana voters are frustrated with what he described as family driven politics and are now searching for a government focused on development and governance.
Modi also linked the growing confidence within BJP ranks to the party’s recent success in West Bengal. Recalling his visit there, he said the BJP’s historic electoral performance had energized party workers across the country, including Telangana. According to him, the political atmosphere in the state reflects growing public support for BJP ahead of future elections.
The Prime Minister said the victories in states like Assam and Puducherry further strengthened the belief that BJP’s governance model continues to receive support from people nationwide. He noted that Telangana had once sent one of BJP’s only two Members of Parliament to Delhi, and today the party has expanded its influence significantly in the state.
Launching a sharp attack on Congress, Modi accused the party of promoting corruption, weakening democratic institutions, and encouraging divisive politics. He alleged that Congress had become disconnected from public concerns and criticized it for failing to implement election promises in states where it came to power.
He also accused Congress of making unrealistic promises before elections and later ignoring them after forming governments. Referring to Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana, Modi claimed the party had failed to meet public expectations in those states.
Speaking about Telangana’s future, Modi said the BJP remains committed to the state’s development and aims to ensure Hyderabad and Telangana grow alongside a developed India. He mentioned that projects worth thousands of crores are being launched to improve infrastructure and public development in the region.
Several senior BJP leaders, including Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, also addressed the gathering. The rally witnessed large participation from party workers and supporters, with Modi interacting enthusiastically with the crowd during the event.
