Modi Expresses Solidarity With UAE After Attack on US Bases as Regional Tensions Rise

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed after attacks on American military bases reaffirming India support while political silence on Iran Israel conflict triggered fresh domestic debate.

  • Bullet One India assures UAE of full support and condemns the attacks
  • Bullet Two Modi speaks directly with UAE leadership and conveys condolences
  • Bullet Three Opposition questions India diplomatic silence on Iran Israel conflict

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to the United Arab Emirates after attacks targeting American military facilities in the region triggered fresh security concerns. The outreach came amid escalating tensions linked to the wider Iran Israel conflict.

In a public message and a direct phone conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Modi strongly condemned the violence and conveyed condolences for the lives lost. He reassured the UAE leadership that India stands firmly with the country during this difficult phase.

Modi also thanked the UAE authorities for ensuring the safety and well being of the Indian community living and working there. Officials said India is closely monitoring the situation given the large number of Indian nationals across West Asia.

At the same time political debate intensified back home over New Delhi approach to the broader conflict. Opposition leaders pointed out that while India expressed solidarity with the UAE the government has remained largely silent on the killing of Iran Supreme Leader and the continued American and Israeli military strikes on Iran.

Critics argue that India traditional support for Palestinian self determination and its long held positions at the United Nations appear diluted in recent years. They warn that diplomatic ambiguity at a time of rising regional instability could send mixed signals especially when millions of Indians have direct economic and personal stakes in West Asia.

The government has not officially responded to the criticism but sources indicate that India is prioritising regional stability citizen safety and quiet diplomacy as tensions continue to reshape the Middle East.
