As political momentum builds in Telangana, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up for a high-profile public meeting during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit on May 10. This marks his first trip to the state after assuming office for a third term at the Centre, and party leaders are treating it as a symbolic and strategic moment.

The large-scale gathering, scheduled at Secunderabad Parade Grounds, has been named “Janagraha Sabha.” BJP leaders say the title reflects public sentiment and aims to channel dissatisfaction against both the ruling Congress government in the state and the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

With preparations underway at full pace, the party is targeting a crowd of nearly three lakh attendees. Leaders believe such a turnout would send a strong message about the BJP’s growing presence in Telangana’s political landscape and its readiness to challenge established players.

Beyond political messaging, the Prime Minister is also expected to focus on development. Key projects likely to be highlighted include the Zaheerabad Industrial Corridor, modernization of railway stations, and expansion of national highways. These initiatives are expected to reinforce the BJP’s pitch for a “double engine government,” emphasizing coordination between state and central leadership.

The timing of the visit is significant, coming ahead of the anticipated Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. BJP leaders are looking to strengthen their foothold in Hyderabad and Cyberabad regions, viewing Modi’s presence as a major advantage in energizing party workers and appealing to urban voters.

Additionally, the party is expected to bring attention to the women’s reservation bill during the event, aiming to connect with female voters and broaden its support base across different segments of society.
