The Andhra Pradesh government has started clearing long pending dues to private hospitals under the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, offering relief to healthcare providers that have been awaiting payments for months. The move is expected to strengthen service delivery and improve financial stability across participating institutions.

As part of the initiative, the government has adopted a bill discounting system to expedite payments. Nearly one thousand crore rupees are being released in phases through this mechanism, ensuring quicker fund flow to hospitals. In the initial stage, payments worth sixty two crore rupees have already been credited to twenty five hospitals.

Officials confirmed that the process is being carried out through a dedicated online portal designed to streamline applications and approvals. So far, more than three hundred hospitals have registered under this system, reflecting a positive response from the healthcare sector. Progress reports have been reviewed by senior officials, including the trust leadership and the state health department.

At present, dues amounting to over two thousand crore rupees are pending to be cleared for hundreds of hospitals. The government has completed verification of a significant portion of these bills and has begun disbursing funds accordingly. Payments are being routed through the Andhra Pradesh Power Finance Corporation, which releases the amount after deducting applicable annual interest.

Since coming to power, the current administration has cleared thousands of crores in dues under the scheme, including arrears from the previous government. With the latest round of payments, private hospitals are expected to receive much needed financial support, helping them continue providing essential medical services without disruption.
