After weeks of disruption, healthcare services under the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme have resumed across Andhra Pradesh, offering much needed relief to patients who were left struggling for treatment. The restoration comes after private network hospitals decided to call off their strike.
The decision to withdraw the protest followed successful discussions between the state government and the Association of Speciality Hospitals. Hospital representatives said they received clear assurances regarding the clearance of pending dues, which had been the primary reason behind the strike.
As per the agreement, the government has committed to releasing a significant portion of the outstanding payments within a short timeframe. Officials reportedly agreed to clear part of the dues within ten days, while the remaining amount is expected to be settled in the next quarter. This assurance encouraged hospitals to immediately resume services under the scheme.
The strike had severely impacted patients, particularly those from economically weaker sections who depend on the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme for affordable and quality healthcare. Many were forced to delay treatments or seek alternatives during the disruption.
With services now back on track, beneficiaries can once again access medical care at empanelled hospitals across the state. Hospital authorities expressed hope that the government will adhere to its commitments, ensuring that such interruptions do not occur again in the future.
