Andhra Pradesh Police have launched a massive statewide crackdown under Operation Vajra Prahar as part of efforts to create a drug free state. The operation began early Saturday morning with police teams conducting coordinated searches across multiple districts.
More than one hundred special teams were deployed to carry out the inspections in different locations. Police personnel conducted detailed searches of houses and suspicious areas while closely monitoring individuals suspected of involvement in illegal activities.
Authorities said the operation focuses on identifying and preventing the storage transport and sale of narcotics including ganja. Vehicles without proper documentation were also seized during the checks as part of the enforcement drive.
Eagle Wing Inspector General Ravikrishna said the main objective of Operation Vajra Prahar is to eliminate ganja supply networks in Andhra Pradesh. According to him police have already identified eight hundred forty nine hotspots across the state where illegal drug activities are suspected.
He explained that cordon and search operations are being conducted in more than one hundred locations simultaneously to track down those involved in narcotics trafficking. Surveillance has also been intensified to prevent the movement of illegal substances.
The senior officer warned that drug abuse can destroy the future of young people and urged the public to stay away from such activities. He also assured that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in illegal trade or activities that disturb law and order.
Operation Vajra Prahar is expected to continue with intensified monitoring and enforcement measures as the police aim to dismantle drug networks and ensure a safer environment for communities across the state.
