Police Search Intensifies as Bhageerath Bail Hearing Continues in POCSO Case
Police teams are searching across Hyderabad and Delhi for Bhageerath while the High Court continues hearing his anticipatory bail plea in the sensitive POCSO case investigation.

- Bhageerath anticipatory bail hearing delayed in High Court
- Police teams continue search operations for Bhageerath
- Statewide protests demand immediate arrest in POCSO case
The legal battle surrounding the POCSO case involving Bandi Sai Bhageerath has intensified as court proceedings and police search operations continue simultaneously across multiple cities.
The Telangana High Court on Thursday postponed its decision on Bhageerath’s request for interim protection from arrest in the anticipatory bail petition. The court directed authorities to clarify discrepancies related to two birth certificates submitted in connection with the victim’s age verification.
The bench headed by Justice T Madhavi Devi heard arguments from both sides before deciding to defer further proceedings on the main anticipatory bail petition until next week.
Senior advocate Niranjan Reddy, appearing for Bhageerath, informed the court that his client was willing to cooperate fully with investigators and only sought temporary protection from arrest during the investigation process.
However, lawyers representing the government and the victim strongly opposed the plea. They argued that granting bail while the accused remained untraceable could influence witnesses and create pressure on the victim’s family.
The court observed that no immediate interim relief could be granted without carefully hearing the victim’s side and examining all relevant material connected to the case.
Meanwhile, Cyberabad police have intensified efforts to locate Bhageerath, who is currently not available for questioning. Special police teams are conducting searches in Hyderabad, Delhi, and Karimnagar to trace his whereabouts.
Investigators reportedly carried out scene reconstruction procedures at the location connected to the alleged incident and collected additional evidence as part of the ongoing inquiry. Officials are also said to be conducting medical examinations to determine the victim’s age accurately.
The case has triggered political and public reactions across Telangana. Several student groups, social organizations, and political activists staged protests demanding immediate action and arrest of the accused.
Demonstrations were held near Pet Basheerabad Police Station and at multiple locations across the state, increasing pressure on authorities to speed up the investigation.
Police officials also issued a stern warning against sharing any personal details or identity related information about the victim on social media platforms. Authorities stated that strict legal action would be taken under the POCSO Act against anyone violating privacy rules linked to the case.
The developments have kept public attention focused on both the court proceedings and the ongoing police investigation as the matter continues to generate intense debate across the state.
