Private Bus Gutted in Highway Fire Near Nalgonda Passengers Escape Unhurt

A private bus travelling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada caught fire on National Highway 65 near Nalgonda, but the driver’s quick response ensured all passengers escaped safely without injuries.

A major tragedy was averted in Nalgonda district during the early hours of Saturday after a private travels bus caught fire while travelling on National Highway 65. Thanks to the driver’s alertness and quick decision making, all passengers were evacuated safely before the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

The incident occurred near Peddakaparthi village in Chityala mandal. The bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada when a technical fault reportedly developed in the engine compartment. The driver noticed smoke coming from the vehicle and immediately pulled the bus to the roadside.

Realising the seriousness of the situation, the driver quickly instructed passengers to get down and move to a safe distance. Within minutes of the evacuation, flames spread rapidly through the bus, leaving little chance to save the vehicle.

Eyewitnesses said the fire intensified quickly and soon consumed the entire bus. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blaze as passengers watched from a safe location.

After receiving information about the incident, fire department personnel and police rushed to the spot. Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control and prevented the fire from spreading further.

Officials said no injuries were reported in the incident, bringing relief to both passengers and authorities. Preliminary findings indicate that a technical problem in the engine may have triggered the fire. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
