A serious road accident involving an RTC bus and a lorry left 15 passengers injured on Tuesday in Telangana, raising concerns over highway safety in the region.

The incident took place on the national highway near Kolcharam when the bus, traveling from Hyderabad to Medak, attempted to overtake a grain laden lorry. During the maneuver, the two vehicles collided, leading to severe impact and injuries among passengers.

Emergency response teams quickly reached the spot and shifted the injured to the Medak government hospital for treatment. According to initial reports, three of the injured are in critical condition and are under close medical observation.

Witnesses at the scene described moments of panic as passengers struggled to exit the damaged bus following the collision. Authorities are currently assessing the circumstances that led to the accident and are expected to conduct a detailed inquiry.

Officials have urged drivers to exercise caution on busy highways, especially while overtaking heavy vehicles, to prevent such incidents in the future.
