Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov has arrived in New Delhi for a series of important meetings aimed at deepening cooperation between India and Russia across multiple sectors.

During his visit, Manturov is scheduled to meet key Indian leaders including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. These discussions are expected to focus on strengthening ties in defence, energy, and trade.

Officials stated that the visit comes at a crucial time when both countries are looking to expand their strategic partnership. Topics related to regional and global developments, including the ongoing situation in West Asia, are also likely to be part of the conversations.

The Ministry of External Affairs welcomed Manturov’s visit, highlighting his role as co chair of the India Russia Intergovernmental Commission. The platform plays a key role in advancing cooperation in economic, scientific, technological, and cultural areas.

Recent developments in energy trade have further strengthened ties between the two nations. Russia has once again become the largest supplier of crude oil to India, reflecting growing economic collaboration despite global uncertainties.

Ahead of this visit, senior officials from both countries held consultations in New Delhi to review bilateral relations and assess progress made after the India Russia Summit held last year. These discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation and addressing shared challenges.

Manturov’s meetings are also expected to examine the broader impact of global tensions on energy supplies and trade flows, which are critical for both countries.

The visit underlines the continued importance of India Russia relations, with both sides working to build stronger cooperation in key sectors while navigating changing global dynamics.
