Senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former minister Appala Narasimha Raju passed away in the early hours of the day at his residence in Pandrangi village of Visakhapatnam district. He was 82 and had been unwell for some time.
With a political journey that spanned decades, Appala Narasimha Raju was widely respected for his commitment to public service and strong grassroots connection. He served as a minister during the tenure of N T Rama Rao and played an active role in the development of his constituency.
He represented the Bhimili constituency and earned a reputation as a dependable and accessible leader. From 1985 to 1999, he won four consecutive terms as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, making him a prominent figure in the region’s political landscape.
Known for his discipline and simple approach, he maintained close ties with the public and remained approachable throughout his career. His leadership left a lasting impact on local development and party organization.
News of his demise brought a wave of grief among party workers and supporters across the district. Several political leaders, including N Chandrababu Naidu, expressed their condolences and paid tribute to his contributions.
