In a move aimed at supporting higher education among economically weaker sections, the state government has released Rs 367.20 crore towards post matric scholarships for the academic year 2024 25.

The orders were issued by K Sunitha, confirming that the funds will be allocated to benefit students from economically backward communities across the state.

Officials said the financial assistance will be routed through various community development corporations, ensuring that eligible students receive scholarships without delay. These include corporations catering to Arya Vysya, Brahmin, EBC, Kamma, Kapu, Kshatriya and Reddy communities.

The government has authorised departments to draw the funds through designated accounts and proceed with distribution. Authorities have also been instructed to ensure proper utilisation and submit detailed utilisation certificates as part of accountability measures.

The release is based on the budget allocation approved by the finance department, reflecting the government commitment to improve access to education for students facing financial constraints.

Officials stated that timely disbursement of scholarships plays a crucial role in helping students continue their studies without interruption, particularly those pursuing post matric education in colleges and universities.
