Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a commanding performance in IPL 2026, registering a convincing 65 run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. After a disappointing start to the season, the team bounced back strongly with both bat and ball.

Chasing a daunting target of 227, Kolkata struggled to keep up with the required rate and were bowled out for 161 in just 16 overs. Despite a quick start from Finn Allen and a fighting half century from Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the rest of the batting lineup failed to build momentum.

Earlier in the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad put up an imposing total of 226 for 8 in their 20 overs. The opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set the tone with an aggressive powerplay, scoring rapidly and putting pressure on the opposition from the outset.

Heinrich Klaasen continued the momentum with a composed half century, while Nitish Kumar Reddy played a crucial supporting role with a valuable knock in the middle overs. Their contributions ensured Hyderabad crossed the 220 mark comfortably.

In response, Kolkata’s innings never fully recovered after losing wickets at regular intervals. While Raghuvanshi showed resilience and Rinku Singh added some runs, the lack of partnerships proved costly.

The Hyderabad bowling unit delivered a disciplined performance to seal the victory. Jaydev Unadkat led the attack with three wickets, while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Eshan Malinga chipped in with two wickets each, dismantling the Kolkata lineup.

With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad gained momentum in the tournament and will look to carry the confidence into their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 5 in Hyderabad.
