With the Tamil Nadu elections approaching the Congress party has unveiled its manifesto outlining a wide range of welfare and development promises aimed at reshaping the state. The document titled Transforming Tamil Nadu focuses on employment public safety healthcare and infrastructure.

A key highlight of the manifesto is the introduction of a Universal Basic Income scheme under which eligible families will receive a monthly financial support of two thousand rupees. The amount will be directly credited to women bank accounts covering all ration card holders across the state.

The party has also announced an ambitious employment plan promising to fill three lakh government jobs within three hundred days. As part of this initiative Congress has committed to publishing department wise vacancy details and introducing a transparent recruitment calendar to ensure clarity and accountability.

Public safety has been given strong emphasis with a proposal to recruit forty thousand police personnel including ten thousand women commandos. The party also plans to establish a unified emergency response system with a single dial number integrating police fire ambulance and child helpline services.

In addition to welfare measures the manifesto includes plans to position Tamil Nadu as a global spiritual tourism hub by promoting historic religious sites with multilingual guides and organized heritage tours.

Healthcare and infrastructure are also part of the agenda with promises to make the state rabies free through complete vaccination and sterilization drives by 2030. The party aims to improve road infrastructure by targeting pothole free roads and reducing road accident deaths to near zero levels.

The manifesto was released in the presence of senior leaders including DK Shivakumar Karti Chidambaram and state Congress chief K Selvaperunthagai highlighting the importance of the upcoming elections.

Tamil Nadu will go to polls in a single phase on April twenty three to elect representatives across two hundred thirty four constituencies. The results will be declared on May four.

The electoral contest is expected to be intense with the DMK led alliance facing the NDA led by AIADMK along with BJP and PMK. Congress is contesting twenty eight seats as part of its alliance while actor Vijay entry into politics with his party is likely to add a new dimension to the competition.

As campaigning gathers momentum the Congress manifesto sets the tone for a competitive election with promises focused on welfare governance and long term development.
