The Telangana government has presented a comprehensive budget for the financial year 2026 27 with a total size of 3.24 lakh crore, marking an increase of nearly 20 thousand crore compared to the previous year. The budget reflects a strong focus on welfare, agriculture, and infrastructure with clear sector wise allocations.
A major highlight of the Telangana Budget 2026 is the allocation of 50,713 crore for the six guarantee schemes. Key welfare programs have received substantial funding including Rythu Bharosa with 18 thousand crore, Cheyutha with 14,861 crore, Indiramma housing with 5,500 crore, and Mahalakshmi scheme with 4,305 crore.
The agriculture sector has been allocated 23,179 crore while irrigation projects received 22,615 crore to strengthen water resources. The Panchayat Raj department received one of the highest allocations at 33,688 crore, emphasizing rural development.
Education has been allocated 26,674 crore and the health sector 13,679 crore, highlighting the government’s focus on improving public services. The energy sector has been given 21,285 crore, while municipal administration received 17,907 crore for urban development.
Other key allocations include 11,907 crore for the home department, 11,784 crore for SC development, and 7,937 crore for ST development. Housing sector received 7,430 crore and roads and buildings were allocated 12,789 crore.
Additional provisions include 3,500 crore for agricultural bonus, 14 thousand crore for power subsidy, 3,683 crore for Kalyana Lakshmi, and 4,343 crore for scholarships. The budget also includes 500 crore for Godavari Pushkar arrangements.
Overall, the Telangana Budget 2026 presents a detailed financial roadmap with clear allocations aimed at balancing welfare commitments with long term development goals across sectors.
