In a significant administrative move, the Telangana government has carried out a large scale reshuffle of Indian Police Service officers, introducing key changes across multiple departments. The reorganisation is aimed at strengthening law enforcement, improving coordination, and enhancing governance within the police system.

Senior IPS officer Shikha Goel has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Home Department, marking one of the most important changes in the latest transfer list. She will continue to hold additional responsibilities in cyber security and forensic science, reflecting the government’s focus on modern policing tools.

As part of the reshuffle, Devendra Singh Chauhan has been posted as Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement, where he will oversee anti corruption initiatives. Meanwhile, Shahnawaz Qasim has been assigned roles linked to multi zone administration along with responsibilities in police personnel management.

Further changes include the transfer of Tarun Joshi as Commissioner of Police for the upcoming Future City, a move seen as part of long term urban planning. With the current commissioner nearing retirement, the appointment ensures continuity in leadership.

In another key posting, Avinash Mohanty has been given charge as Director General in the drugs control and prohibition department, along with additional responsibilities in anti corruption operations. The reshuffle also places B Sumathi as Commissioner of Police for Malkajgiri, while Karthikeya will handle intelligence related duties with expanded responsibilities.

Officials said the transfers are part of a broader effort to streamline operations and place experienced officers in strategic roles. The changes are expected to improve efficiency across departments and address emerging challenges in urban policing, cyber security, and law enforcement.
