  • Government orders ensure smooth journalist accreditation cards process.

Thousands of journalists across Telangana are set to receive new accreditation cards as the state government has initiated a fresh distribution schedule starting May 1. The move is aimed at ensuring that eligible media professionals continue to access official facilities without disruption.

The Information and Public Relations Department has instructed that the entire process must be completed between May 1 and May 10. This timeline has been put in place as the validity of the previous accreditation cards issued for the 2022 to 2024 period is ending on April 30.

To streamline the process, clear directions have been issued to district administrations. Following a review meeting held on April 28, Special Commissioner G Mukunda Reddy communicated the government’s decision to all district collectors, asking them to ensure swift implementation.

Collectors have been asked to complete district level media accreditation committee meetings by April 30. Only journalists approved by these committees will be issued new cards within the specified dates. Officials have also been told to submit reports to the government once the distribution process is completed.

District Public Relations Officers have been directed to act immediately and coordinate the process on the ground. The government believes this step will benefit a large number of journalists across the state by maintaining continuity and reducing procedural delays.
