Chandrababu Naidu Sets Parliament Agenda for TDP MPs

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has urged TDP MPs to strongly raise state development issues in Parliament, focusing on central funding, major projects, and legal clarity for Amaravati during the Budget Session.

Ahead of the Parliament Budget Session, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president Chandrababu Naidu held a key meeting with party MPs, setting a clear agenda focused on securing maximum central support for the state’s development priorities.

During the discussion, Naidu emphasised that Andhra Pradesh issues must be raised forcefully and consistently in both Houses of Parliament. He asked MPs to act in coordination and ensure that critical infrastructure and welfare projects receive national attention and financial backing.

Amaravati featured prominently in the meeting, with Naidu directing MPs to seek the second phase of funds for capital city infrastructure. He also underlined the need to remove any uncertainty surrounding Amaravati by pushing for legal clarity, which he said was essential to boost investor confidence and accelerate construction activity.

Polavaram project progress was another major focus area. Naidu instructed MPs to demand stronger central cooperation to ensure the project’s completion by 2027. He also called for discussions on Nallamala Sagar, stressing its importance in supplying water to Rayalaseema and strengthening regional irrigation.

TDP MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu said the party would raise the issue of Amaravati’s legal status in Parliament to eliminate confusion and attract investments. He also confirmed that funding for Nallamala Sagar would be taken up during the session as part of broader water resource discussions.

The meeting also covered demands related to Visakhapatnam Railway Zone funding, development of backward districts, and expansion of national highways across the state. MPs were asked to keep these subjects in sharp focus during debates and discussions.

TDP leaders further criticised the previous YSRCP government, alleging neglect of Rayalaseema’s development needs. They said the Budget Session would be used to highlight unmet commitments and press for corrective action through central assistance.

With the session approaching, Naidu made it clear that Parliament should be used as a platform to argue, negotiate, and secure tangible outcomes for Andhra Pradesh rather than limiting engagement to routine political exchanges.
