Senior YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu was released from Rajahmundry Central Jail on Tuesday evening after being granted bail in a case linked to a Sankranti festival lucky draw held in Sattenapalli.

The case dates back to the 2023 Sankranti celebrations when complaints were filed alleging that a lucky draw was organised in violation of rules. Based on these complaints, Guntur police registered a case and arrested Rambabu, who was later sent to judicial remand.

After hearing arguments, the Guntur court approved bail, paving the way for his release. Speaking to the media soon after walking out of jail, Rambabu said the case against him was fabricated and politically motivated.

He alleged that his residence was attacked and vehicles were damaged, claiming his family members were harassed. Despite this, he said he chose to face the situation without fear and expressed confidence that justice would prevail.
