AP Government Revamps Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal Scheme With AI Support

The Andhra Pradesh government signs a new technology partnership to improve transparency, nutrition tracking and cost efficiency in the Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal Scheme benefiting over 30 lakh students.

  • AI tools to track nutrition and attendance accurately.
  • Coverage extended to 42,230 government institutions.
  • Over 30 lakh students to benefit statewide.

The Andhra Pradesh Government has taken a major step to strengthen the Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal Scheme, aiming to deliver better nutrition and tighter monitoring across government-run schools and colleges.

As part of this initiative, the School Education Department has entered into a strategic agreement with International Innovation Corps to modernize the scheme using advanced technology tools.

Under the new arrangement, the programme will cover 42,230 government schools and colleges, directly benefiting over 30.23 lakh students who rely on the midday meal for daily nutrition. Officials say the partnership will help ensure meals reach the right number of students while maintaining consistent quality standards.

The government explained that data analytics and artificial intelligence will be used to accurately estimate student attendance, track nutritional benchmarks and reduce operational costs. These measures are expected to make the scheme more transparent and efficient while minimizing wastage.

Education department officials noted that the technology-driven approach will also help monitor expenditure in real time and support better planning at the school level. The move is seen as a significant upgrade to one of the state’s most important welfare programmes for students.
