Devotees were allowed back into the Tirumala temple on Tuesday night after darshan was temporarily suspended due to the lunar eclipse. The temple doors, which were closed in the morning as per tradition, reopened following the completion of rituals and purification procedures.

According to officials, the temple was shut at 9 am in anticipation of the lunar eclipse that occurred between 3 26 pm and 6 47 pm. After the eclipse concluded, authorities waited for the prescribed interval before reopening the shrine.

At around 7 30 pm, the temple doors were opened and purification rituals, including Punyahavachanam and other customary kainkaryams, were performed. Only after these sacred procedures were completed were devotees permitted to have darshan.

The reopening brought relief and joy to pilgrims who had been waiting patiently for entry. Temple authorities ensured smooth arrangements to manage the flow of devotees during the late evening hours.

Meanwhile, the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annadanam Complex, which had also been closed at 9 am due to the eclipse, was reopened at 7 30 pm. After cleansing the kitchen premises, annadanam distribution resumed at 8 30 pm.

Laddu counters were also reopened, allowing devotees to collect prasadam as usual. Officials confirmed that all services at the temple have now returned to their regular schedule.

The information was officially communicated by the TTD Chief Public Relations Officer, marking the end of eclipse related restrictions at the sacred hill shrine.
