Infosys updates workplace policy asking employees including senior level staff to work from office at least four days a week to improve collaboration learning and productivity.

- Infosys rule requires four days office work weekly
- Infosys policy expands office work requirement to more employees
- Infosys believes office work improves team collaboration
Infosys has announced a major change in its workplace policy by requiring most employees to work from the office at least four days a week. The company has informed employees about the updated rule through a communication sent by its human resources department.
Earlier the office attendance rule mainly applied to senior managers and directors at higher levels within the organization. Now the company has expanded the policy to include employees at the six A level as well which means a wider group of senior professionals will be required to spend more time at the workplace.
Company officials reminded managers that leadership by example is important for building a strong work culture. According to the internal message when senior staff attend the office regularly their teams are more likely to follow the same approach.
The human resources department will monitor office attendance data every month. The company has also pointed out that some employees have not been meeting the existing expectation of spending at least ten days in the office every month.
Infosys continues to follow a hybrid work model but believes that regular interaction at the workplace improves teamwork learning and overall efficiency. The company feels that physical presence in the office helps employees exchange ideas more effectively and speeds up project execution.
The change also reflects a broader trend within the technology industry where many companies are encouraging employees to return to office spaces after several years of remote work.
For example Tata Consultancy Services already expects employees to work from the office five days a week while Wipro requires employees to attend office three days a week and spend at least six hours per day at the workplace.
Industry experts say the growing use of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies is encouraging companies to strengthen collaboration among teams. Many organizations believe that working together in the same environment can lead to better innovation and problem solving.
Although work from home improved productivity during the pandemic maintaining that level of efficiency over the long term has become a challenge for several companies. With the new rule Infosys aims to create a balanced hybrid model where employees spend more time working together in office environments.
