Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic bus accident in Markapuram and announced financial assistance for the victims and their families.
The Prime Minister stated that the loss of lives in the accident was deeply distressing and extended his condolences to the bereaved families. He also wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident.
As part of the relief measures, an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh has been announced for the families of those who lost their lives, while the injured will receive Rs 50 thousand each as compensation.
The accident took place in the early hours near Rayavaram in Andhra Pradesh when a private bus collided with a tipper near a quarry. The impact led to a massive fire, completely burning the bus and creating a horrifying situation.
At least 13 passengers were killed in the incident, many of them trapped inside the burning vehicle. Several others sustained serious injuries, while a few passengers managed to escape safely.
The bus was traveling from Nirmal to Pamuru when the accident occurred. Emergency teams including police and fire personnel rushed to the scene and carried out rescue operations.
The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. The site of the accident was filled with chaos and distress as flames engulfed the vehicle and victims cried out for help.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and provide necessary assistance to those affected by the tragedy.
