Hyderabad is set to witness a massive Hanuman Vijay Yatra today, prompting authorities to enforce strict traffic regulations and security arrangements across the city to maintain order and safety.
The procession will begin at nine in the morning from Gowliguda Ramalayam and is scheduled to conclude by eight in the evening at the Hanuman temple in Tadbund. The route will pass through several key areas including Putlibowli, Narayanguda, Chikkadpally, RTC Crossroads, Ashoknagar, Kavadiguda, and Paradise.
To manage the large gathering and ensure smooth movement, police have completely restricted vehicular traffic along the procession route. Vehicles are being diverted to alternative routes, with specific changes announced for major corridors such as Lakdikapul and Dilsukhnagar.
Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic Joel Davis stated that vehicles traveling from Lakdikapul towards Dilsukhnagar will be redirected via Basheerbagh, while those heading from Dilsukhnagar to Mehdipatnam will be diverted through LB Nagar.
In addition to traffic measures, authorities have enforced a temporary ban on liquor sales across Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates from ten in the morning to ten at night. In Malkajgiri commissionerate limits, wine shops will remain closed from early morning until evening.
The main Vijay Yatra will also be joined by around fourteen sub processions from different parts of the city, making it one of the largest religious gatherings. Police have deployed extensive security forces and are monitoring the entire route through CCTV surveillance.
Officials have urged commuters to plan their travel in advance and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. The arrangements reflect the scale of the event and the importance placed on ensuring a peaceful and well organized celebration.
