Hyderabad police have issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the IPL matches scheduled at Uppal Stadium, aiming to ensure smooth movement and public safety during the busy match days. With thousands of spectators expected, authorities are preparing for heavy traffic and crowd management.
The matches will be held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal between April 5 and May 22. On match days, traffic restrictions will remain in force from afternoon until late night, as officials anticipate a large turnout of nearly forty thousand spectators for each game.
To manage congestion, heavy vehicles coming towards Hyderabad from Warangal will be diverted through the Outer Ring Road. Similarly, vehicles heading towards Uppal from areas like Ghatkesar and LB Nagar will be redirected via alternate routes such as Nagole and Boduppal.
Police have also urged regular commuters to plan their travel in advance and use alternative routes to avoid delays. Strict parking regulations will be enforced near the stadium, with no parking allowed on main roads surrounding the venue.
As part of the security arrangements, around two thousand police personnel will be deployed, including law and order teams, traffic staff, special units, She Teams, and bomb squad members. Surveillance will be strengthened with hundreds of CCTV cameras monitoring the area.
Authorities have also imposed restrictions on items inside the stadium. Spectators will not be allowed to carry laptops, cameras, bags, outside food, water bottles, or cigarettes into the venue.
To reduce traffic pressure, people attending the matches are encouraged to use public transport options such as metro services and RTC buses instead of private vehicles.
Officials stated that these measures are necessary to ensure a safe and hassle free experience for both cricket fans and city residents during the IPL season.
