Telangana DGP Shivadhar Reddy Pushes Strict Road Safety Measures and Arrive Alive Campaign

Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy has directed officials to intensify efforts to curb road accidents across the state, emphasizing that protecting human life must remain the top priority.

During a review meeting with police officials at the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate, the DGP highlighted the urgent need to address the rising number of road fatalities. He called for a combination of strict enforcement and public awareness to tackle the issue effectively.

As part of the strategy, the DGP instructed police to strengthen the Arrive Alive campaign, a key initiative aimed at promoting road safety. The campaign, conducted during the last week of every month, focuses on educating the public about safe driving practices and reducing accident rates.

Officials have been asked to transform the campaign into a widespread public movement by actively involving communities and increasing participation. The DGP stressed that awareness alone is not enough and must be supported by consistent enforcement of traffic rules.

He described road accidents as a serious social concern, urging authorities to take firm action against violations while also spreading the message that life is more important than speed.

Police have been directed to enhance monitoring on roads, promote responsible driving behavior, and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations. The goal is to create a safer environment for all road users.

During his visit, the DGP also inaugurated a new residential complex for armed police personnel at the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate, marking a step toward improving facilities for police staff.

With these measures, Telangana Police aim to significantly reduce road deaths and build a culture of safety through both enforcement and continuous awareness efforts.
