In a practical move to tackle rising summer temperatures, Hyderabad Traffic Police have introduced mist fans to support traffic staff who spend long hours on the roads. The initiative is aimed at reducing heat stress and improving working conditions during peak summer.
A trial setup was recently installed at a busy traffic booth near the Assembly area, where senior officials reviewed its performance. The cooling system uses a motor to spray fine water mist, helping bring down the surrounding temperature and offering immediate relief to personnel on duty.
Officials highlighted that traffic staff often work for nearly eight hours under direct sunlight and pollution, making them vulnerable to heat related illnesses. With temperatures soaring to uncomfortable levels, the new system is expected to provide much needed comfort during duty hours.
The decision came after observing the physical strain faced by traffic personnel every summer. Authorities believe that small but effective measures like mist fans can make a significant difference in their daily work environment.
Following the successful demonstration, feedback is being collected from staff. Based on the response, the Hyderabad Traffic Police are planning to expand the installation of mist fans across major junctions in the city to ensure better safety and support for their workforce.
