In a strong push against corruption, the Anti Corruption Bureau has stepped up its operations across Telangana, exposing officials who misuse their authority for personal gain. In a shocking development, three government officials were caught red handed while accepting bribes on a single day, drawing widespread attention across the state.

The incidents unfolded in different districts, highlighting how bribery continues to affect both policing and administrative systems. In Vikarabad district, two women police officers were caught in an ACB trap after allegedly demanding money in connection with a dowry harassment case. The officers, identified as a Circle Inspector and a Sub Inspector, were accused of seeking sixty thousand rupees to grant station bail to the accused.

According to officials, the complainant had already paid part of the amount but was repeatedly pressured to clear the remaining balance. Unable to bear the demands, he approached the ACB, which laid a trap. The officers were caught while accepting the remaining amount, leading to their immediate arrest.

On the same day, a similar case surfaced in Narayanpet district, where a Revenue Divisional Officer was caught taking a bribe inside his office. The complainant had applied for five birth certificates and claimed he had been visiting the office for nearly ten months without any progress. Eventually, he was allegedly asked to pay five thousand rupees per certificate, amounting to twenty five thousand rupees in total.

Acting on the complaint, the ACB team conducted a planned operation and caught the officer while accepting the bribe. The incident once again brought attention to delays in public services and how they are often exploited for illegal payments.

Officials say the recent arrests are part of a broader effort to curb corruption, especially within the police department. Over the past month alone, eight police personnel have been caught in similar cases across districts including Siricilla, Nirmal, Nagar Kurnool and even at Hyderabad airport.

The back to back arrests have sparked renewed debate over accountability and transparency in public service. Authorities have reiterated that strict action will continue against those involved in corrupt practices, sending a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated.
