In a significant political development, the Telangana Governor has officially nominated Professor Kodandaram and Azharuddin as Members of the Legislative Council. The decision comes ahead of the completion of the current term of sitting MLCs D Rajeshwar Rao and Farooq Hussain, whose tenure is set to end on May 27. With their exit approaching, the Governor has moved to fill the vacancies in advance to ensure continuity in the Legislative Council.
The official gazette was issued from Raj Bhavan, giving formal approval to the nominations. Both Kodandaram and Azharuddin are expected to bring their experience and perspectives into the Council, contributing to the legislative process in Telangana.
This move has drawn attention in political circles, as timely nominations help maintain stability and avoid gaps in representation within the upper house of the state legislature.
