Soon after assuming charge as Telangana Director General of Police, C V Anand addressed key issues including the high profile phone tapping case and future policing priorities in the state.

Speaking to the media, CV Anand stated that the investigation into the phone tapping case has reached its final stage. He indicated that the Special Investigation Team is preparing to file a second chargesheet soon after completing internal reviews. Further action, he said, will depend on the findings of the ongoing assessment.

Expressing gratitude to the state leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility, CV Anand said his focus would be on strengthening law enforcement and making Telangana policing one of the best in the country. He emphasized the need to adopt modern technology, including artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Highlighting priority areas, he said special attention would be given to crimes involving women and children, drug related activities, and cyber fraud. He noted that cyber criminals are constantly evolving their methods and stressed the need for district level officers to actively participate in tackling such threats.

CV Anand also spoke about strengthening internal security measures, stating that specialized units would be effectively utilized to address extremist activities. He assured that the police department would continue to upgrade its capabilities in line with changing crime patterns.

Responding to questions about a case involving singer Mangli and allegations linked to a microfinance issue, CV Anand said he would review the details before making any comments.

With a focus on modernization and accountability, the new DGP signaled a proactive approach aimed at improving public safety and ensuring faster response to emerging challenges in the state.
