Redmi Note 15 Pro Series Sees Price Hike Amid Rising Component Costs
Redmi increases prices of Note 15 Pro and Pro Plus by up to ₹2000 citing rising memory costs, bringing higher prices for popular smartphones with 200MP cameras and large batteries
In a move that may disappoint buyers planning an upgrade, Redmi has raised the prices of its popular Note 15 Pro lineup. The increase affects both the Redmi Note 15 Pro and Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus models, with prices going up by as much as ₹2000 across variants.
The revised pricing is already in effect, meaning customers will now have to pay more than before for the same configurations. Industry trends suggest that the hike is linked to rising global costs of memory components such as RAM and storage, a factor that has also impacted other smartphone makers in recent months.
Looking at the updated pricing, the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus now starts at ₹39,999 for the 8GB and 256GB variant, up from ₹37,999. The 12GB and 256GB version has moved to ₹41,999, while the top end 12GB and 512GB model is now priced at ₹44,999. Each variant has seen an increase of around ₹2000, reflecting a uniform adjustment across the lineup.
The standard Redmi Note 15 Pro has also not been spared. Its 8GB and 128GB version now costs ₹31,999, compared to the earlier ₹29,999. Meanwhile, the 8GB and 256GB variant has been revised to ₹33,999, marking a similar jump in pricing.
Despite the increase, the devices continue to offer features that have kept them competitive in the segment. The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus comes equipped with a large 6.83 inch CrystalRes AMOLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. Its standout feature remains the 200MP main camera with AI enhancements, designed to deliver sharper detail and improved image processing. The camera setup also includes an ultra wide lens and a high resolution front camera for selfies. A 6500mAh battery supports extended usage, while high level water and dust resistance ratings add durability.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro also focuses on camera and battery performance. It features a 200MP primary sensor with OIS support, paired with an ultra wide lens for more flexible photography. The phone houses a large display and a 6580mAh battery, aiming to deliver long lasting performance for everyday use.
Market analysts note that this price revision is not an isolated case. Other brands such as OnePlus and Nothing have also adjusted their pricing strategies recently, pointing to broader supply chain pressures affecting the smartphone industry.
For consumers, the timing of the increase could influence purchase decisions, especially with multiple sales events and competing offers expected in the coming weeks. While the Redmi Note 15 Pro series still offers strong specifications, the revised pricing may push some buyers to reconsider their options or wait for promotional discounts.
