A disturbing incident reported from Ontimitta in Kadapa district has triggered a police investigation after a woman was allegedly assaulted at the Haritha Hotel premises.
According to preliminary information, the incident came to light after authorities reviewed events involving a group that had gathered at the location. The individuals had reportedly entered a room within the hotel premises without proper permission, despite objections from staff.
Police sources indicate that the situation escalated inside the room, where the woman was allegedly subjected to an assault by two men. During the incident, a struggle is said to have taken place, following which one of the accused sustained injuries and later sought medical treatment at a nearby health centre before being shifted to a larger hospital in Kadapa.
After the incident, the woman was reportedly left near a local railway station. Police teams have since launched efforts to trace her and record her statement as part of the investigation.
Officials visited the hotel premises and examined CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events. One suspect, believed to be an auto driver, has been taken into custody for questioning, while further inquiries are ongoing.
Authorities have assured that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure justice and have urged anyone with information about the victim to come forward and assist the investigation.
