Huawei Unveils Ultra Thin MatePad Pro Max With 14 Hour Battery and Premium OLED Display
Huawei has introduced its thinnest flagship tablet featuring a lightweight design, large battery, high refresh rate OLED display, powerful speakers, and productivity focused features for premium users worldwide.

Huawei has introduced a new premium tablet called the Huawei MatePad Pro Max during its launch event in Bangkok, and the company is placing major emphasis on its ultra slim and lightweight design. The latest flagship tablet arrives with high end display technology, a large battery, productivity focused features, and premium multimedia capabilities aimed at users looking for both portability and performance.
The MatePad Pro Max stands out primarily because of its incredibly thin body. Huawei claims the device measures just 4.7mm in thickness while weighing only 499 grams, making it one of the slimmest and lightest flagship tablets currently available. To put that into perspective, the tablet is thinner than the average pencil, which usually measures around 7mm to 8mm in diameter.
Despite its thin profile, Huawei has managed to include a large 10400mAh battery inside the device. According to the company, the tablet can deliver more than 14 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge. The combination of a lightweight body and long battery life is expected to appeal to users who travel frequently or rely on tablets for extended work and entertainment sessions.
The tablet features a large 13.2 inch flexible OLED PaperMatte display with 3K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Huawei says the PaperMatte technology is designed to reduce glare and improve visibility in bright lighting conditions, making the screen more comfortable for reading, browsing, and content creation. The display also supports a peak brightness of 1600 nits and 1440Hz PWM dimming for smoother visuals and eye comfort.
Huawei has also worked on keeping the bezels extremely narrow. The screen is surrounded by slim 3.55mm bezels, helping the tablet achieve a modern edge to edge appearance. The front facing 12MP camera is neatly integrated into the bezel design to maintain a clean and immersive display experience.
On the back, the MatePad Pro Max includes a 50MP rear camera intended for document scanning, photography, and video recording tasks. While tablets are not usually known for photography, Huawei appears to be offering a more complete multimedia package for users who want flexibility across different use cases.
The company says the tablet has been designed to deliver PC level productivity. It supports keyboard accessories and stylus input, making it suitable for professional work, note taking, sketching, and multitasking. Huawei claims the MatePad Pro Max offers around 20 percent better performance and 30 percent improved heat dissipation compared to the previous MatePad Pro 2025 model.
Audio is another area where Huawei has invested heavily. The tablet comes equipped with a six speaker setup featuring quad driver bass along with four microphones. This setup is expected to deliver richer sound quality for movies, music, video calls, and gaming.
Huawei has launched the MatePad Pro Max in two storage variants including 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. The tablet starts at a price of £999.99, which is approximately Rs 128600. Buyers will be able to choose between Blue and Space Grey color options, although Huawei has indicated that pricing may vary across markets.
Alongside the tablet, Huawei also introduced the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro and Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition during the same event. However, the MatePad Pro Max emerged as one of the biggest highlights due to its combination of portability, premium hardware, and flagship level specifications.
With its ultra slim design, high refresh rate OLED display, large battery, and productivity features, the Huawei MatePad Pro Max is positioned as a premium device for users who want a lightweight tablet without compromising on performance or entertainment capabilities.
