Telangana Introduces Strict Parking Rules for Vehicle Owners
Telangana government plans tougher parking regulations with towing penalties, parking fees, and possible vehicle auctions to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety across the state.

- Telangana parking rules become stricter
- Illegal parking vehicles face towing action
- Traffic police to impose heavy penalties
Vehicle owners in Telangana will soon have to follow stricter parking regulations as the state government prepares to introduce a new policy aimed at reducing traffic congestion on busy roads. Authorities have decided to take strong action against vehicles parked carelessly on roadsides and in restricted zones.
According to the proposed rules prepared by the transport department, vehicles parked illegally will be immediately towed away by traffic police. Owners will not only have to bear towing charges but may also face additional penalties. Officials believe the new measures will help improve traffic movement and reduce inconvenience for commuters.
The government has also made it clear that broken down vehicles cannot be left unattended on roads for long periods. If a vehicle is abandoned after a breakdown, police can seize it and shift it to a designated parking facility or police station. Vehicle owners will then have to pay daily parking charges to recover their vehicles.
Authorities warned that vehicles left unclaimed for more than 45 days could be auctioned by the government. In addition, pending traffic challans must be cleared before the vehicle is released back to the owner.
The decision follows directions issued by the Supreme Court to improve road safety and prevent traffic obstructions. Officials said strict action will especially be taken against vehicles parked on footpaths and in no parking areas.
Before implementing the policy fully, the government plans to gather public feedback on the draft rules. Traffic officials are advising motorists to follow parking regulations carefully to avoid penalties and unnecessary trouble.
