  • Vijay rejects political title changes
  • Dalapathy tag remains in movie

The much awaited Tamil film Jana Nayagan starring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay is finally preparing for a grand theatrical release next month after facing multiple delays.

The movie holds special significance for fans as it is being described as Vijay’s final film project before fully concentrating on politics and governance following his recent electoral victory in Tamil Nadu.

Sources close to the film unit revealed that the shooting had already been completed before the elections. However the release was postponed several times due to various production and scheduling reasons.

Ahead of the release the production team reportedly suggested replacing Vijay’s popular screen title Dalapathy with Chief Minister Vijay considering his current political position. But Vijay is said to have politely declined the idea.

According to industry discussions Vijay informed the makers that audiences and fans gave him the Dalapathy identity through cinema and he wanted to continue with the same title out of respect for them.

There were also initial discussions about modifying certain introduction scenes and powerful political dialogues in the movie to suit his new public image. However Vijay reportedly instructed the team not to make unnecessary changes and to treat the film purely as cinema rather than a political project.

The decision has received positive reactions from both fans and film circles with many appreciating Vijay for keeping his film identity separate from his political role.

The buzz surrounding Jana Nayagan has increased rapidly on social media with fans eagerly waiting to watch Vijay on the big screen one more time before his full transition into public life and administration.
