Global electric vehicle giant Tesla is preparing to expand its footprint in India with plans to establish a new sales and service center in Hyderabad. The development is expected to strengthen Telangana’s growing position in advanced mobility and technology driven industries.

Senior representatives from Tesla recently met Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu at the state Secretariat and discussed the company’s business expansion plans. Tesla officials expressed strong interest in beginning operations in Hyderabad and expanding their presence in the state.

The minister welcomed Tesla’s decision and described Hyderabad as an ideal destination due to its rapidly growing technology ecosystem. He said Telangana has already developed a strong infrastructure base in areas such as semiconductor design, automotive software, electronics engineering and deep technology sectors.

Sridhar Babu noted that Tesla is more than an electric vehicle manufacturer and has built a global reputation through innovation in artificial intelligence, battery technology, robotics and advanced manufacturing systems. He said the company’s entry could further strengthen the state’s position as a center for future technologies.

Tesla has already established four showrooms across the country and Hyderabad is expected to become its next major destination. The state government also encouraged the company to explore opportunities beyond showrooms and consider expanding related industries and manufacturing support systems in Telangana.

The minister said the government remains committed to promoting environmentally friendly transportation and clean technology initiatives. He assured full support and administrative cooperation for investors willing to establish new technology and industrial projects in the state. Experts believe Tesla’s arrival could bring fresh momentum to Telangana’s automobile and innovation sectors.
