Political reactions continue to intensify around the controversy involving Professor K Nageshwar and his remarks on Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and the alliance government. The issue has drawn attention across both Telugu states, with criticism and counter criticism continuing from different political groups.

The controversy began after Professor Nageshwar reportedly claimed that Pawan Kalyan had approached Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking action against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also alleged that Amit Shah advised Pawan to maintain friendly relations with Jagan, describing him as a long term friend. According to the comments, Pawan had also shared the matter with leaders of his party.

The remarks triggered a strong reaction from supporters of Jana Sena Party, who accused Professor Nageshwar of spreading false information and acting in favor of YSRCP. Social media criticism quickly followed, and complaints were filed against him at several police stations across Andhra Pradesh, leading to multiple cases being registered.

As pressure increased, Professor Nageshwar later issued an unconditional statement withdrawing his comments. However, debate has continued over the legal action that remains active despite his clarification and apology.

Reacting to the issue, former Telangana minister and senior BRS leader Harish Rao criticized the Andhra Pradesh government’s approach. In a post on social media platform X, he questioned the need to continue legal proceedings after Professor Nageshwar had already retracted his statements.

Harish Rao said that continuing cases in a retaliatory manner after an unconditional withdrawal of comments was not appropriate. He stressed that freedom of expression should be respected and urged the Andhra Pradesh government to immediately withdraw all cases filed against Professor Nageshwar. Political observers are now watching closely to see how the AP government and Jana Sena leaders respond to his remarks.
